Theaters explore new moves
Legit nonprofit org Theater Communications Group and philanthropic group MetLife Foundation have handed out $225,000 in grants to companies including the Wooster Group, Perseverance Theater and Curious Theater Company as part of TCG and MetLife's latest round of funding for initiatives that explore new biz models for the legit world. Juneau Theater Company Plans 2012 Anchorage "Introductory" Season
Alaska's premier professional theater company has announced its first season in Anchorage.
Perseverance Theatre of Juneau will produce two plays at the Performing Arts Center next year and plans to ramp up its presence here in the years immediately thereafter.

Work-in-progress play to show at Perseverance Second Stage

Perseverance Theatre announces world premiere of 'Bigfoot'
Perseverance Theatre has announced the final production of their 2011-2012 mainstage season: the world premiere of “Bigfoot and Other Lost Souls: A Musical Fable,” by Mark Hollmann and Adrien Royce. “Bigfoot” will complete the five play subscription series that also includes Alfred Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Animals Out of Paper” and “A Raisin in the Sun.”

Perseverance to bring plays to Anchorage

New York theater artist to perform twice in Juneau
Performance artist Penny Arcade will be presenting her one-woman show, "The Girl Who Knew too Much," at the Perseverance Theatre Friday evening and at The Rendezvous Saturday.
A few weeks ago, Perseverance Theatre’s Artistic Director Art Rotch found out that playwright and performance artist Penny Arcade was coming to Alaska for a visit.
“I was amazed she was going to be in Juneau!” said Rotch. “She usually plays in Sydney, London or New York.” Read more.

Full body theater: Alaska Summer Theatre Intensive under way at Perseverance
