The chase is on: Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1930s film comes to the stage in this Tony-award winning comedy adaptation. Four actors create the entire cast of over 100 characters in this tale about foreign spies, glamorous heroines, sudden captures and narrow escapes. One actor plays Richard Hannay while a second actress plays three women he is entangled with. A pair of actor-clowns portray cops, spies, Scottish innkeepers, evil professors and even the occasional inanimate object. Watch as the magic of theatre updates this famous Hitchcock film for the stage, while spoofing the entire spy-thriller genre. Chases in trains, planes and automobiles, over the Scottish moors, through political rallies, and with actors constantly changing characters while running at full-tilt keep the laughs coming. Plenty of stage tricks and references to Hitchcock’s beloved cinematic styles add up to a great night at the theatre, and a great opening to the 2011-2012 season.
