Charles Dickens' timeless classic A Christmas Carol was one of the greatest influences in rejuvenating the old Christmas traditions of England. Written at the height of the English Industrial revolution, it contrasts images of extreme poverty and despair with moments of light, warmth, and joy to remind us of the meaning of love and goodwill at the holidays. It’s Christmas Eve and Ebenezer Scrooge, a stingy businessman with no place in his life for kindness, compassion or charity, is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. Scrooge is warned to change his ways or face a miserable afterlife. Three more ghosts transport him to the various scenes of his past, present, and future to remind him of the man he once was, the man he currently is, and the fate he faces if he doesn’t change his ways. Treasure this heart-warming tale with the whole family this holiday season!
