THE
SECOND STAGE
The mission of the Second Stage program is to bring new Alaskan audiences, artists, and ideas into our Theatre. This mission is rooted in the values of new Alaskan voices, underserved audiences, and emerging artists.
Our vision is a sustained commitment to new Alaskan writing over the next several years, curated and developed by a new generation of artists, and reaching a wide variety of audiences. Should their passion lead that way, we aim to impact the mainstage audiences, programming, and company of artists in future seasons.

The K of D:
an urban legend
“They’re called urban legends. Those things that get started when a bunch of people get together and talk real low and real fast. They're called urban legends. Which is kinda funny seeing how most of 'em take place someplace rural. Not urban.”
Fact: Skinny Charlotte McGraw is a 12-year old girl from St. Mary's, Ohio.
Fact: One day, her twin brother gave her a sweet, strange goodbye.
Fact: Now Charlotte's got the K of D.
...or so She says?!
Set on the banks of a lake, Perseverance Company Member & national TCG Fox Fellowship Award Winner, artist Christina Apathy, brings a small town to life – 17 characters all told - in a riveting tale that floats eerily between the psychological, the earthly, and the miraculous!
